Deinocheirus
Deinocheirus mirificus | Procreate | 2021
A dominant male Deinocheirus looks up from foraging as two younger males encroach on his territory.
Deinocheirus could be compared to a 40ft duck with a sail on its back. I gave the dominant male a bright blue throat and exaggerated sail to signal sexual maturity vs the pale yellow throats of the juveniles. In the background, two Gurilynia fly off, a species of bird also found in the Nemegt formation.
