Ichthyosaurs in california | Procreate | 2023

For most of the Mesozoic, California was underwater. We don’t have a rich history of dinosaur fossils but we do have plenty of marine reptiles. These are two species that were found at a fossil site in Shasta county: the larger Shastasaurus pacificus and the smaller Californosaurus perrini.
